Biodiesel fuel from blue-green algae

By utilizing pressing and the hexane solvent method, up to 95 percent of the oil from algae can be extracted and cleansed of any extraneous chemicals.  Through transesterification, sodium hydroxide is mixed with methanol to create biodiesel fuel with a glycerol.  Once the additional glycerol is removed, the final product is algae biodiesel fuel.
